Te Wahapū o Waihī had the chance to showcase the collective mahi underway to restore the health and mauri of the wetland when we hosted Biosecurity Minister, Andrew Hoggard, at the restoration site.

Te Wahapū o Waihī, in partnership with Bay of Plenty Regional Council, and supported by the Ministry for the Environment’s Freshwater Improvement Fund, this kaupapa is an example of how community, iwi, and government can work together effectively to enhance ecological wellbeing.

Our shared commitment extends beyond restoration – we’re looking to the future through sustainable practices,  blue carbon and improved biodiversity.
